New Year, New You:
Silver Solutions for Your Resolutions

Every year, approximately half of adults in the U.S. make resolutions with the hope of positively changing their lives or the world around them.

Keeping these can be challenging—perhaps worthy of another resolution—and as our "new norm" carries us into 2021, honoring those resolutions and intentions may be more challenging than ever.

There are an infinite amount of traditional resolutions we all know about—from getting better sleep to drinking less alcohol. This year, we are hearing from so many of you that resolutions are centered on making your life easier, and your mind and body healthier, may be just what you need to shake off the 2020 blues.

The important part is to set yourself up for success by setting attainable goals that make sense in the context of our new – and hopefully temporary, new normal given pandemic restrictions and precautions.

To help you get started, we chose a few of the most popular resolutions and some of our tried and true TRU47 products to help you reach your goals.

new year to improve health and well being tips

Fitness and Exercise

Walk into any gym in the first few weeks of the year, and you’re bound to see a packed room. From January to March, resolution-makers flood fitness centers in hopes of getting in shape. Depending on your unique situation, a trip to the gym may not be in the cards just yet.

Some states and local governments have shut down or limited the capacity of gyms and fitness centers. And even if gyms are going, some would-be gym-goers may be second-guessing a trip to their favorite place --at least until vaccines are more readily available.

One option is to work out at home, either on your own or through the many fitness apps, podcasts, and ZOOM sessions available to today’s consumers. Outside is another great option, though you may need to add a mask to your list of work-out essentials depending on your locale and some gloves in northern climates.

However, suppose you choose to visit the gym, fitness center or favorite physical yoga, dance, or boxing studio. In that case, you can do things to help you stay healthy while working out in the proximity of others.

Wear a mask for starters and social distance. And always be sure to disinfect any equipment before using it. Any open facility you visit should be fully stocked with disinfectant and hand sanitizer, and you can also pack your own to avoid using shared items.

Resolution Recommendation

Silver Spritz: Gym surfaces can harbor all types of germs, but with a bottle of Silver Spritz on hand, you can protect yourself with a non-toxic, chemical-free disinfectant alternative. Spray it on gym equipment, your locker, bathroom or shower surfaces, and more for a clean experience wherever you work out. All TRU47 silver-infused Spritzes and new Mask Mists can be used here as well. They all contain pure organic essential oils, trace minerals, Himalayan sea salts, and colloidal silver.

Weight Loss

It seems that fitness and weight loss often go hand in hand, but there’s usually an additional step for those specifically focused on weight loss: maintaining a healthy diet. That can be difficult in the best of times. Added stress or limited dining options can make it even more challenging.

Keeping healthy options on hand and clearing the kitchen of “trigger foods” like ice cream, chips, and other unhealthy snacks can help eliminate temptation. Though you may want to allow yourself to have that occasional favorite food; otherwise, you may set yourself up for defeat in the long run.

Another great way to control your calorie intake is to eliminate distractions, slow down, and reduce stress. When we’re always on the go or multitasking, it’s easier to ingest more calories than intended. The same is true about stress, which can lead us to overindulge on healthy foods and make it more challenging to lose weight in general. And we all are familiar with the phrase "comfort food."

Turn off the TV, put down your phone, and take a deep breath (or a few) before eating. Meditation, yoga, and even a brief walk can also help you destress before your meal.

Resolution Recommendation

THINK THIN Inhaler: This portable and easy-to-use inhaler includes Vanilla the 5th, Grapefruit, and Peppermint essential oils, all of which can help you curb cravings. Just take 1-2 deep inhales as necessary to subdue that urge to overeat. Many engaged in the science of scent have reported that these custom-formulated pure essential oil nasal inhalers do, in fact, curb your appetite.

Get Organized

Feeling a bit disorganized?  You’re not alone. Shifts in the way we live have impacted our home, work, school, and social spaces, and clutter seems to be a product of these changes. Clutter and disorganization, unfortunately, can also add to our stress, making it harder to focus and leaving us with a feeling of general unease.

Getting organized is a common resolution, and this year, it may have a much more significant impact on your day-to-day life.

Organizing isn't limited to tidying up spaces. It can mean keeping a journal or calendar to organize your thoughts or responsibilities (e.g., project deadlines, doctor appointments, etc.).

Before you plan your path to organization, think about the things that make you feel most disorganized. It may be an onslaught of project deadlines, school meetings, and doctor appointments. Not to mention an overloaded inbox.

Or it may be a kitchen with too many visible gadgets, a desk covered in papers, or a car filled with all those random things that collect. Instead of tackling it all at once—something that could leave you feeling defeated—start with the primary origin of chaos and move forward from there.

And as many published authorities keep telling us, start small with chores or projects that can be tackled relatively quickly. Even if a minor task, it’s a win when you can calk off completion.

Resolution Recommendation

Stellarcleenz Mitt: Sick of carting around bulky bottles of chemically based cleaning solutions? This single mitt can replace many of the products in your cleaning-kit and help you quickly and efficiently eliminate germs on countertops, sinks, doorknobs, whatever you touch—no bulky bottles of chemical cleaners or paper towels required.

Simply wash down and clean every day with soap and water or a mild detergent to good the goop off; then spray with Tru47’s Home+ silver sanitizing citrus pure essential oil colloidal silver spray or another safe and natural disinfectant.

Improve Mental Well-Being

Stress negatively affects the body and mind; this has been proven repeatedly by many in the professional fields. It can lead to several health problems, including digestive issues, depression, high blood pressure, obesity, heart disease, and even diabetes. It makes sense then that reducing stress and improving mental wellbeing is a common goal for new year resolution makers. We suggest you hold on to this one dearly.

Fortunately, there are easy steps you can take, even during the pandemic, to eliminate stress. Yoga, meditation, a brisk walking outside, and a spin on an indoor bicycle or rower for a burst of energy can certainly help. So again, can increased organization.

Similarly, taking time for other forms of self-care, whether reading a book, enjoying a relaxing bath, watching your favorite show, playing some music, or chatting with friends, can also help us feel a little less stressed. Taking a bath, with bubbles or soothing salts is another way of pampering yourself.

Another great way to improve your wellbeing is by getting enough sleep. Exhaustion and fatigue can make it harder to meet daily challenges, making it another unwanted stress source. It can also compromise your immune system.

Resolution Recommendation

STRESS LESS and SLEEP TIGHT inhalers: The goal of both these TRU47 staples is easy to identify. These carefully crafted nasal inhalers feature essential oils, including Roman Chamomile and Lavender, that will help you keep calm and sleep better. All you have to do is take a few deep breaths.

We’re all happy to say goodbye to 2020, and we hope with all our hearts that 2021 is filled with an abundance of joy, peace, personal fulfillment, and physical, mental, and emotional nourishment, and of course, love. However, you choose to start the new year, make sure it considers your personal needs and sets you up for success. You deserve it.
